Walking Bass Lines Lesson 6 The Dominant 7th Chord

The Dominant 7th chord and ways to resolve it using smooth voice leading techniques. In this example we are continuing the use of triads to construct our walking bass line. On the 4th and 6th bar you will see Dominant 7th chords .
We will apply a voice leading technique in the 4th and 6th bar. Resolving the dominant 7th chord into the next chord change.

Playing along to the transcription is an excellent way to practice your reading skills and train your ear and progress from reading tab to reading standard notation.

When you’ve finished practicing the lesson, test your knowledge of the lesson material by doing the worksheet provided. Highly recommended.
