I have enthusiastically purchased your method books after our initial conversation and I took some time yesterday afternoon after receiving them to leaf through all three of the books and browsed the table of contents. I was readily convinced that they contained the materials and more importantly the approach to the concepts that I have been contemplating for awhile and felt the joy and the courage automatically to begin my journey of walking bass lines studies.
The concepts of walking bass lines construction is very well articulated, implemented and supported. The moment I have been searching has finally arrived and now I want to play all the time!!! It is the result of the careful approach from totally reinforcing the basic fundamentals and concepts based on the chord progressions through all the books from simple to complex in a very composed and well designed methodology.
I congratulate you for writing such excellent method books for developing and constructing walking bass lines. I will certainly be an advocate for your method books and share them with all the bass players/musicians I come in contact with.
I have worked with literally over twenty different method books and your approach is definitely the best of the best that I have worked with. It is very player friendly throughout and it is masterfully crafted! In addition to a lifetime's work going into these books more importantly is the willingness to patiently share this knowledge with others that makes all the difference and you should be very proud of that accomplishment.
I am truly having the time of my life with these books and I have only just begun!!! So many varied exercises to reinforce the concepts, sight reading in addition to being lots of fun! I will certainly post my comments on Amazon for Books I,II and III "

" I just bought these three books - Standard Lines, Blues and Rhythm Changes. If nothing else, they are brilliant for improving your sight reading, taking you through all 12 keys. But they are more than that, and I'm looking forward to getting more familiar with them.
Thanks to Steven Mooney for writing them. I've only had them a week, but feel my walking lines have more structure and direction already. No sound files, though, or backing tracks, just notes, notes, notes, mastery of which will make you very popular on the jazz circuit. Not for the lazy student... "
